Jessica A. Miller, MSN, RN, APRN, FNP-BC is a board-certified Nurse Practitioner that assists Dr. Parsley in the operating room, performs patient hospital rounds, sees patients in clinic and works closely with Dr. Parsley to ensure you receive the highest level of orthopedic care. She is licensed as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in the state of Texas. She joined the team in 2016 and prior to that she was working as a Nurse Practitioner for an orthopedic team in Chicago, IL. She is dedicated to providing patients with high quality, individualized, holistic care with the goal of improving patient outcomes, overall health, and satisfaction. Jessica grew up in Rockford, Illinois and received her bachelor’s in biology from Dominican University, River Forest, IL where she graduated cum laude and participated in an internship in Anesthesia, OR, and the Pain Clinic and an independent study in chronic pain management at Rush Oak Park Hospital. She then went on to earn her bachelor's in nursing from the West Suburban College of Nursing, Oak Park, IL and then her master of science degree in nursing-family health nurse practitioner from Resurrection University, Chicago, IL. Jessica has experience in the Intensive Care Unit as an RN taking care of postoperative and critically ill patients providing comprehensive individualized patient- and family-centered care and collaborating with the multidisciplinary healthcare team. After the ICU she specialized as an Infection Control Practitioner where she coordinated the infection prevention program at Presence Saints Mary and Elizabeth Medical Center to ensure that patients received evidence based best practice care to improve patient outcomes and satisfaction. She also participated in national programs for prevention of hospital acquired infections with the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, Telligen/Quality Improvement Organization, American Hospital Association/Health Research and Educational Trust Hospital Engagement Network, Illinois Department of Public Health, and The Joint Commission. During this time she focused on adherence and education in Surgical Care Improvement Project guidelines for prevention of surgical site infections, intraoperative infection prevention, and postoperative treatment and follow up.
When she is not in the office she loves to spend time with her husband and Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and her extended family in Houston and Chicago. She is also an active member of Ecclesia Houston Church.
