Your Anesthesiologist

Someone from the anesthesia group will speak to you. You, along with the anesthesiologist, will choose whether to have a general anesthetic which induces sleep, or a spinal type anesthetic in which only your hips and legs are anesthetized. The small epidural catheter may be left in the back for two days after surgery to assist with pain control. We have no preference, and allow you and the anesthesiologist to make this decision.
